We are so excited to announce the launch of the Interfaith Food Pantry Network’s 2025 Summer Teen Council! This Summer, we will welcome one group of 12 students between the ages of 13-18 to participate in a six-week program which will include: hands-on service, group projects and learning about food insecurity in Morris County. Students will get a first-hand look at our operation, meet our leadership, plan, facilitate and present results of their own fundraiser, food drive or other group project and roll up their sleeves to complete on-site service work including working at our Farmers Market. Upon completion of the program, participants will be awarded a service certificate reflecting 16 hours of service.

Who can apply to participate?

Morris County students between the ages of 13-18 who have not participated in the program previously are welcome to apply.

How can those interested apply?

Interested students should submit a short essay to kpowell@mcifp.org by June 16, 2025 explaining why they feel that ending food insecurity is an important mission. Please include your name, address, grade and school. Spots on the council are very limited so those who apply must be able to commit to all sessions of the program. Dates and times are listed below.

How will students be selected to participate?

Students will be selected based on a staff review of all application essays as well as their availability to commit to the scheduled sessions of the program.

Where will the program sessions take place?

The IFPN main location at 2 Executive Drive in Morris Plains, NJ.

When will the program be held?

  • Tuesday, July 8th, 2:00pm to 4:00pm – Welcome and Ice Breaker Activities
  • Tuesday, July 15th, 2:00pm to 4:30pm – Service and Learning Session One
  • Tuesday, July 22nd, 2:00pm to 4:30pm – Service and Learning Session Two

Please contact Kiley Powell at kpowell@mcifp.org with any questions.

Each year, letter carriers across the country head out on their routes on the second Saturday in May to collect donations of non-perishable food items to benefit local food pantries. Since launching in 1993, the National Association of Letter Carriers’ annual Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive has grown into the nation’s largest one-day food drive, helping to fill the shelves of food banks in cities and towns throughout the United States.

The need is great, but you can help. We invite you to join letter carriers and our partner organizations in the fight to end hunger in our communities by participating in the annual Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive.

To donate, leave a sturdy bag (or bags) containing non-perishable foods, such as canned soup, canned vegetables, canned meats and fish, pasta, rice or cereal before the regular mail delivery on Saturday, May 10th. The carrier will do the rest. The food donations stay in each community, going to help local residents

The IFPN Annual Public Meeting will be taking place on May 29,2025.

The Interfaith Food Pantry Network’s 2025 Spring Gala, Harvesting Hope, promises to be a special celebration of IFPN and its supporters who ensure we can provide emergency and supplemental nutritious food to over 10,000 Morris County neighbors each month who are facing hunger and food insecurity.

In 2024, we distributed a record 2.3 million pounds of food including fresh produce, eggs, dairy, frozen meats and shelf stable foods – the equivalent of 2.1 million meals – through visits to one of our two pantries, home deliveries and via our network of 37 partners throughout Morris County.

We look forward to honoring:

Alstede Farms with the Outstanding Partnership Award

Timothy J. Lockwood with the Community Impact Award

Tom Maoli, Celebrity Motor Car Company, Whippany with the Neighbors Helping Neighbors Award

The Gala will reflect on an extraordinary year when we accommodated a 22% increase in new clients (and growing) while making great strides toward creating a more food secure community.

Please consider supporting the IFPN 2025 Gala through an auction prize donation, digital journal ad or 50/50 raffle purchase, donation or join the celebration on April 25. Your support will help us meet the future demands of our community for years to come. We are truly grateful to all those who give generously to make our work possible.
